Welcome to my home page. You’ve arrived here either because you’ve read my book “The Bombay Boys” or you’re surfing for a recipe or both.
I have been sharing my favourite recipes and food experiences for some years, so will definitely continue to do that. I still love making cupcakes! Writing the novel reminded me of some of the food that I ate as a child which was a direct result of my family’s time in India as they tried to recreate some of the dishes that had become so familiar to them. Many of these dishes were local food that they had eaten on a daily basis, but some were the results of a mixture of cultures so could best be described as Anglo Indian. I remember hilarious times as a child as my grandmother tried to substitute some spices with ingredients available at the time, such as Bisto and tomato ketchup….it was not always successful! Expect more recipes, a video or two, restaurant reviews and anything I think you may find interesting. Let me know what you think and guest recipes and reviews are always welcome, so do get in touch. Hugs! xx Kim P.S. (Kim Dorton Broad now, please forget that other surname 🙂 )
Kim,
Loved the idea of the vodka plums. I’ve done this with calvados and found it too overpowering, but with the subtleness of the vodka….now that sounds great! I just made elderflower champagne….haven’t tried it yet, but will do in the next few weeks….Love the style of the writing too really clever and frankly it makes me want to cook something!!!!
